We Are Thankful
For the first time we tried our luck at grant applications and we did it! Thanks to Ridgefield Thrift Shop and the Greater Hudson Heritage Network (via the New York State Council for the Arts) we were the recipient of five treasured grants.
The RTS gave us the funding to purchase three important items - two flat filing cabinets to better store our oversized documents and maps, three mannequins to display our beautiful collection of period dresses and textiles and two pairs of stanchions to protect our displays when they are open to the public.
The NYSCA/GHHN gave us funding to purchase archival storage boxes for our growing collection of glass negatives.
The NYSCA/GHHN, through a second round of grants, awarded us the funds to have two of our period dresses restored by the Textile Conservation Workshop, an invaluable local resource in South Salem.
The RTS awarded us another grant in 2025 allowing us to purchase a new desktop computer with all the fixings as well as some rolling carts to more efficiently store our growing collection of necessities.
And, we recently received word that our latest application to the GHHN has been awarded. Details will be forthcoming as soon as we receive official word.

If you haven't been there, it's a must! The more "we" support the RTS the more they are able to give back to their local communities (their generosity extends well beyond Ridegefield!). Read more about them here: RTS
